I still hope that youth training can send more local players to the team, because football has a regional attribute. Under the current circumstances, it is still the same sentence, giving Chengdu Rongcheng more time, and the team will definitely give you a surprise.
You also mentioned the regionality of football. Is it possible to introduce Sichuan players who play in other clubs? Let them go home to work?
Ma Mingyu: our Sichuan players are scattered in various teams of the Super League. I can understand that the fans hope they can return to their hometown. But this is a complicated process, because there is a contract. I still think we should pay attention to building our youth training system so that our young talents in Sichuan can come out and become rising stars.
What do you think is the current football level in Chengdu in China?
Ma Mingyu: Many friends have asked me such a question. I think the football level contains many aspects. Our fans in Chengdu are the first in the country. As you can see, Chengdu Rongcheng is also striving for the qualification of the Asian Championship. What I want to say is that our football background, our fan culture and our youth training are among the best in Chengdu. This is because we have a very large group of people who love football. It is because of this atmosphere that more children will join our training.
Finally, I also hope Chengdu Rongcheng can make up for our regret of Sichuan Quanxing and win a Super League championship.
Can you give some suggestions for zero-based youth football teaching?
Ma Mingyu: I think the most important thing is the guidance of parents for children with zero Foundation who love football. Parents must be prepared for their own mentality. For example, my little daughter is 6 years old. She likes to take part in sports, especially football. I will support her to take part in sports, but I am not in a hurry to see the results. Because the happiness and positive emotions gained in sports are very helpful to children’s growth. Therefore, I want to say to parents and friends that let children do things they like and don’t emphasize the results all the time. This is the most important thing.
What are your thoughts on the Chinese women’s football team in the World Cup return crestfallen? What are your opinions on the future development trend of world football women’s football team?
Ma Mingyu: regarding the fact that the Chinese women’s football team did not qualify in the World Cup group match, I saw many comments on the internet asking “what happened to the Chinese women’s football team”. In fact, I want to say that our women’s football team is still that team. They have no “what’s wrong” and they have played the real level. On the other hand, we should see the rise of world’s women’s football, especially the European Women’s football team. They are developing rapidly and we are now in a backward state. Our female football spirit has not been lost, but the system we have developed still needs to be improved.
In fact, it is similar to the current situation of our men’s football team. What is important is to do a good job of popularization and foundation, so that more and more children can participate in football and make the foundation well, our grades naturally improved.
Finally, can you share your experience of participating in Umbro?
Ma Mingyu: I am very happy to participate in the activities of Chengdu station Umbro. Maybe you don’t know. Umbro and I still have an indissoluble bond. Because in my youth, the first foreign brand jersey was Umbro. I still remember that Jersey was dark blue with white sleeves and very textured.
